I currently work for the Specialist Schools & Academies Trust and have been fortunate enough to have been involved in a number of successful regional and national partnership projects in recent years:
The Teach Advanced Online & Collaborative project. Project managing and leading the development and national pilot of an online “pull” professional development community that seeks to provide a structured collaborative curriculum development space in which education leaders, teachers and teaching assistants can innovate. The project is a partnership between the SSAT and Intel Education and uses a (soon to be launched) Moodle base with a unique and innovative assessment for learning module.
The Silverstone Learning & Discovery Centre. Working in partnership with Silverstone Circuits Ltd, The DfES (now DCSF), Northamptonshire LA’s Playing for Success programme, The National College for Motorsport, Apple Computers and lead education agencies locally. I project managed the creation of a centre for learning at the UK’s premier Grand Prix Circuit.
The National Learning Network East Midlands project - a partnership between three FE colleges and Northamptonshire LA (represented by myself as project manager). Developed a community of paired “next-practice” teachers using online web technologies to share resource development, new teaching and learning methodology and experiences.
Creative ICT in the Classroom: Using New Tools for Learning. This book represents a number of the practical concepts and ideas around using ICT and e-learning in a blended context developed during the first phase of the Learning Discovery Centre project. I am a co-author.
Currently:
Managing the development of the UK Teach Advanced Online & Collaborative moodle platform and the integration of our assessment for learning module.
Training TAOC participants in the UK and other consortium countries (recently Jordan).
Developing a series of think tank style events to showcase school developments in a range of areas.
Delivering on the National College for School Leadership BSF Leadership programme. As part of the SSAT delivery team, delivering training and support for schools and LA’s to enable them to form their vision for learning and strategy for change as part of the Building Schools of the Future process.
The things i'm into:
Harnessing and encouraging innovation.
Building partnerships between education and industry.
Curriculum redevelopment and redesign.
Building a vision for new schools.
Professional development and teacher training.
Change management.
Embedded use of learning platforms.
Supporting staff in adopting new technologies.

we are running a free game based learning event in Norwich next week. I thought that you might be interested? Russell is the keynote speaker. There are more details in the events section.
Thanks
that's great. I'll add you to the delegate list.
The website has got the address, directions etc. You can email me at scott.hewitt@realprojects.co.uk if you need anymore info.
Have a good weekend.
I have just logged on and missed all the fun! Bit worrying that this can happen here as I run my NQTs form a page here!

Ning has a really good anti-spam system one of the best going, but now and again something gets through. Apart from the usual supplier marketing invasive approaches this is still pretty rare. As soon as we were aware of the intrusion this week, which came from one of our members, it only took us 12 seconds to ban and delete the offensive content, I dont think that it is going to get any better than that at the moment. Only the activity logs remain as they have to be deleted or refreshed separately. I don't thing Matt has anything to worry about, anyway NQTs like everyone else, need to learn how to deal with this C21st social networking and this seems like as good a place as any away from the kids to experiment.
I hope that you are enjoying Wired Teachers, are you at Silverstone quite often with Peter Ford, I am only just a few miles south in Brackley I would like to come and see the facilities at the Circuit and perhaps chat about any joint projects that we could do together.

we are in Norwich City Centre. Shame about the 11th.
We've got an event in Norwich next wednesday that we run with City College Norwich.
It would be really good to catch up. I'd be happy to come to Diss or welcome you at the office. It would be good to find out what you are working on.
