Sharon, great to have you with us, I look forward to your contributions. Thanks for the kind comments about the radio, do please let us know what you would like to hear, you can add ideas into the forum discussion. I am doing a live radio workshop at a school in Swindon on Wednesday, and then again on Saturday in North Somerset, and yes I will be hosting a live show at the SLF on Clyde Broadcast's stand each day so come and find me, I would love to do a live interview with you. The stream is being broadcast here too. Speak soon. Russell
Have started a new niche SN site which may be of interest as I can see you are primary focused.
Primary Teachers Network is a very new site aiming to provide a perfect mix of professional and social networking. This is a free, non-commercial entity aiming to unite some primary voices, ideas, resources and such from around the world. Things are just starting so you will have to use your imagination a little bit :) Join us at: www.primaryteachersnetwork.ning.com
Mission:
1. Every teacher has something special to offer! Share it here!
2. No-one has time to search and find the best stuff! Find it here!
3. Why can't we be professional & social at the same time? Mix & Make friends here!
Main idea is for all members to contribute just a bit themselves (everyone does something well right?) We will be adding loads over the coming weeks and months... should be quite useful eventually!
Site involves all the regulars:
Professional Areas
Forums: A place for members to discuss primary school related themes.
Grabs/ Notes: This is an amazing area for finding relevant web links and IWB resources.
Social Areas
Blogs: for all professional or non-professional sharing of anything!
Members:You can search members to find some friends with similar interests
Both Professional & Social
Groups:Members can discuss and share a range of things here.
Videos:Here you can post a great science experiment; a successful lesson or show off one of your talents to the world!
Photos: Members can include anything from their last holiday to the last school fair
Music:Share your own music / favourite tunes here (beware of copyright!)
Main areas of initial focus will be subject/ group specific (Access through forums and groups):
- web links (great sites for resources and lesson plans/ ideas etc.)
- links to free IWB resources/ flash based activities. (e.g.http://primaryteachersnetwork.ning.com/notes/EY_Maths_Links )
The idea is that once it builds up, you can come to the site and perform a general search for what you are looking for. We are updating weekly so stay in touch for more great stuff.
Please don't hesitate to come in and request away for all you need and we will do our best to help you out!
Hope you enjoy the site and will help us out by referring more teachers! Join us at: www.primaryteachersnetwork.ning.com
Warm Regards,
