Hi Walter,

Having a wonderful time at UWS really positive environment to work.
I am involved in some exciting projects in Primary Schools in Hamilton.
Just 6 weeks to finish my Music Technology Degree then it's full time Lecturing.
I've also been working with LTS the past 2 months involved with Maratech Virtual Teaching, this is the way to go for the future. The last virtual class had 22 schools from all over Central Scotland join a class on Google Earth with a guest specialist teacher from London. All Geography Teachers it was fantastic.
You can see all of the virtual class recordings on Glow.
I hope you and Colleen are well.
As you said great minds think alike!!!!!!!!

Hi Walter,

So sorry to have missed your message, I have been so busy.
I am working for Clydebank College, helping them out of a mess.
Lecturer has been off for a month and I am trying to finish the course with the students that have remained.
Place is so dirty and I have requested cleaners now for 3 weeks.
Course is so out of date and can't find proof of work for passed modules.
A nightmare to be exact.
I hope you did not think I was ignoring you, by not answering.
This is my first visit to the site since taking up the position at Clydebank.
I would have loved to been involved.

Regards
Lori

The recording studio is located in the basement of the building and shares also as a dumping ground for old council rubbish.
I spent my first day clearing out cardboard boxes I deemed as a fire hazard.
Students work is unusable it has been recorded wrong, lecturer is a musician not an engineer, and clearly does not know much about engineering.
8 years this course has been running and I can't see how anyone could pass if the work was ever assessed.
I have been asked to write and develop the new course.
I am just hoping that other work will come my way I do not wish to stay, but for the moment it pays the bills.
I will have a look at the HMIE reports, thanks.
I am just about to start work on a new educational website, working with amazing people who really think outside the box.
As soon as I have the prototype I will like you to give me your opinion.
Just waiting for the funding to come through from Scottish Enterprise.

Regards

Lori

Hi Walter,

NQ for just now and they are looking at HNC, but I have expressed they can only do this if they spend money on equipment and classroom computers.
I've just finished writing the 1st year recording module for UWS and they are really pleased with it. Meeting on Wednesday at Ayr regarding the 2nd year course work for recording module.

Any information from other colleges would be helpful, I would appreciate you advice.

No luck on Friday when I was in Clydebank they are to have yet another meeting to discuss who is to pay for cleaning. This does not help me at the moment.
I suppose that is what happens in a large organisation.

Only a few weeks left on the course and no sight of my new computers.

The students will have to work really hard in the studio to get through this course.
One computer for 9 students, I have to allocate one hour mix time for each student if they are to pass.

The students want to pass and I'm sure they will manage.

Enough of my moaning.

take care

Lori
